The beads in this necklace are so yummy they remind me of swirled lemon ice. They have an extraordinary depth of color that is simply fascinating. The beads are connected by silvertone findings, which show some patina from age, but absolutely no verdigris. The beads are in generally pristine condition with no chips or cracks noted, and range in size from 5 mm (the small round beads) to 20 mm (the large tear drop bead). The necklace measures approx. 30" in wearable length, and the drop adds another 3". This necklace is unsigned, but was identified by a respected bead expert on the jewelry board as 1930s Czech satin glass (thank you, Belle*Dame :-). The bead caps are very specific to Czech jewelry from the 1920s and 30s, and provide a definitive confirmation of the necklace' age and origin. The small slide-in tension clasp is cleverly hidden inside one of the beads, and is in fine working order. Overall, this exceptionally beautiful necklace is in Excellent condition.
