This spectacular vintage brooch is a classic example of D&E artistry and craftmanship. It has been recently confirmed by the DJJ Group and will soon be shown in the 2007 Brooches album. It is crafted of silvertone metal and features black diamond rhinestones in prong settings. There are six riveted roundelles with rhinestone centers and loops around the edges. Dangly Swarovski comet argent crystals are attached to the loops with headpins. Not every loop has a crystal, and I believe it was designed that way. However, it is noted for accuracy. The rhinestones are all secure in their closed back, prong settings, with no dull stones noted. The crystals do have spotty coating losses and edge wear from moving about on top of the rhinestones. This is only noticeable on close inspection, and does not affect the sparkle or beauty of the brooch, but is noted for accuracy. The brooch measures approx. 2 1/2" across. There is really no wear to note on the metal, and the sliding ring clasp is in fine working order. Overall, this stunning brooch is in Excellent condition.
